All aboard for this monumental new photography tour we have put together with the help of Culturally Creative Travel!
Alan and I wanted to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience where we could visit more than one National Park and at the same time share our eighty-five plus years of combined professional experience and knowledge of photography. To accomplish this we knew we couldn't spend all our time driving from location to location in caravans of cars as we normally do on our workshops. So we came up with idea to do this as a bus safari. We get to spend more time making photographs and less time driving. We will still be providing one-on-one help during our photography sessions as well as Photoshop and Lightroom help while we travel on the bus from place to place (using our/your laptops). This provides a more efficient use of our time instead of having a classroom to setup and tear down at each hotel. If you don't want help as we travel you can use that time to catch up on your sleep (you might need it, we are going to be busy).
From the wonders of the Grand Canyon to the windswept walls of Antelope Slot Canyon to the iconic sights of Monument Valley where so many Hollywood westerns have been filmed, this photographic safari will take you to some of the most spectacular spots of America’s National Parks and Canyons.

Accommodations this evening are inside the park. (Breakfast)
Day 3 - Sept 28th (Fri) Grand Canyon National Park
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Grand Canyon National Park. Take one of the parks shuttles to explore the canyon and all it has to offer. (Breakfast)
Day 4 - Sept 29th (Sat) Grand Canyon National Park - Navajo National Monument - Kayenta
Today begins with sunrise over the canyon. A once-in-a-lifetime experience, drive to a viewpoint of the GRAND CANYON for the opportunity to make photographs of the flame-colored walls plunging 7,000 feet into the Colorado River. Later today, NAVAJO NATIONAL MONUMENT. Visit villages built by prehistoric Ancestral Puebloans that date from 1250 to 1300 AD. See original architectural elements such as roof beams, masonry walls, and rock art. (Breakfast)
Day 5 - Sept 30th (Sun) Kayenta – Monument Valley – Lake Powell – Page
To experience the American West immortalized on the silver screen, journey across the Navajo Nation to MONUMENT VALLEY for photographs during the “Golden Hour” this morning. Situated on the Arizona/Utah border, the valley’s scenic desert vistas and iconic buttes have appeared in countless classic Western films. Afterward, visit the Glen Canyon Dam, holding back the waters of the Colorado River in Lake Powell, the country’s second-largest man-made lake. Later this afternoon, an ANTELOPE CANYON CRUISE takes you onto the lake and into the tight, winding canyons. (Breakfast)
Day 6 - Oct 1st (Mon) Page – Bryce Canyon National Park
This morning delve deeper with an UPPER ANTELOPE SLOT CANYON PHOTO TOUR. Photograph the spectacular petrified sand dune created by wind, water and sand. Next, travel into Utah along the Grand Staircase to BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL PARK. Bryce is famous for its unique geology; erosion has created bizarre shapes, including slot canyons, windows, fins, and spires called “hoodoos.” Tinted with numerous colors, these rocks create a wondrous landscape. Make sure to have your camera on hand this evening as you travel to Inspiration Point for stunning views at sunset. (Breakfast) Note: Slot Canyon tour is subject to availability and park regulations.
Day 7 - Oct 2nd (Tues) Bryce Canyon National Park – Zion National Park – St. George
"Zion” is an ancient Hebrew word meaning a place of refuge or sanctuary. Once a refuge for Mormon pioneers, ZION NATIONAL PARK’S striking landscapes of steep canyons and stone towers carved out by rushing streams over millions of years will mesmerize you. There is plenty of time to explore the park: take the park shuttle, see the Visitor’s Centre and the museum, take photographs or perhaps a leisurely hike. You’ll overnight in St. George. (Breakfast)
Day 8 - Oct 3rd (Wed) St. George – Snow Canyon State Park – Las Vegas
The journey continues to SNOW CANYON STATE PARK, a park featuring a canyon carved from the red and white Navajo sandstone in the Red Mountains of Utah. Time at leisure for photographs and hiking before continuing on to Las Vegas with an afternoon arrival. (Breakfast)
Day 9 - Oct 4th (Thur) Las Vegas, Nevada
Today starts with a visit to the HOOVER DAM. See the original gauging station used to measure water level and flow, and dynamite storage bunkers used during construction. Then, a guided COLORADO RIVER FLOAT TOUR by raft offers you close-up views few people have ever seen of Hoover Dam, mighty power plants, and Black Canyon. This is absolutely the best photo opportunity of the Hoover Dam and Colorado River! Return to Las Vegas, where the remainder of the afternoon is yours at leisure. This evening enjoy a farewell dinner at one of “Sin City’s” lively local restaurants. (Breakfast, Dinner) Note: Float tour subject to availability and favorable weather. Note: Transportation for dinner will be by monorail.
Day 10 - Oct 5th (Fri) Las Vegas, Nevada
Your tour ends with breakfast this morning. (Breakfast) Note: Airport transfers are not included in tour price. Passengers are responsible for coordinating their own airport transfer for departure.
